Hi Tim/Everyone,

I'm having a problem with the new instrument view. When I switch to the new instrument by sliding my finger/stylus up the screen, the screen slides up and the instrument appears....but for less than a second then the application quits.

I'm using a Dell Axim X51v (Windows Mobile 5) PDA with CF card GPS, this device has run all the previous versions of SkyDeomon Mobile perfectly and very responsively (even with GDI+ graphics enabled).  I currently have SkyDemon installed on a 2GB SD card.

NB: I'm having this issue regardless of whether GDI+ is enabled or not. I'm going to try installing SkyDemon Mobile on the device directly rather than the SD card now to see if that makes a difference and will report back if it works....just trying to thing of different things to try to get it to work.

Any ideas anyone, I was hoping to test the new ILS feature this weekend.

Hope I can get this fixed as I love SkyDemon and fly with it all the time.......keep up the great work guys Smile

Hey Guys,

Managed to get the instrument display to work by selecting 'Rotate Screen' and switching SkyDemon to landscape mode, however if I try to rotate back to portrait again SkyDemon quits.  The map display view works fine in both modes, so it seems that the new instrument display does not like portrait orientation on my device.

My Dell Axim X51v has a screen resolution of 640x480 (VGA).  I would really like to use it in portrait mode because the GPS receiver is at the top of the device and I can not really mount it in a landscape mode.

This is a fantastic PDA with a fast CPU and I have even managed to find extended batteries for it that last 6hrs+ on full screen brightness with SkyDemon running and GPS active, so I really don't want to change PDA.

Is this something that can be fixed?

NB: this is the case regardless of whether SkyDemon is installed on the SD card or device memory.

I don't have the same device as yours but thought I would check to see if my device (no name chinese 7 inch) would work in both orientations to see if it might be a software problem instead of a problem with your device. Mine worked OK so it must be a peculiararity of your device rather than a bug.

We can't officially support things like this because we have no control over the peculiarities of third-party devices, but if SkyDemon just quits it will often spit out some debug information into a debug file in the SkyDemon folder. If you have such a file, do email it to us and then we can investigate. We can't promise anything though.

Hi Tim,

Many thanks, I have attached the debug file from the device.
